Reading the site
You do not need an account to read the articles. The site's editorial code does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, third-party embeds or a visitor profiling system. Fonts, styles and scripts are served with the site. Opening a page still requires a network connection to the hosting service.
Hosting and network providers may process technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested address, browser information and security events to deliver and protect the site. The page code does not determine the hosting provider's log retention or infrastructure settings. This notice does not promise that ordinary server logs do not exist.
The local contact tool
The contact tool assembles the name, reply email, subject and message you enter into plain text in your browser. Its code does not send those fields to a server or store them in cookies or local storage. The active draft is held in page memory and may be lost when you leave or reload the page.
Choosing “Copy draft” asks your browser to place the prepared message on your clipboard. Choosing “Download .txt” creates a text file on your device. Other applications, shared device users or clipboard history features may be able to access information you copy or save. Manage those copies through your own device and application settings.
Email correspondence
If you send an email, your mail service and the receiving mail service process it. The publication receives the sender details, message contents and any attachments you choose to provide. Correspondence is used to respond, assess a correction, address a site issue or maintain an appropriate record of the exchange. Avoid sending credentials, sensitive personal records or confidential client material.
Messages should be kept only as long as needed for their purpose and any applicable recordkeeping or legal requirements. This notice does not state a fixed deletion period. An editorial correction may require retaining the underlying non-sensitive evidence. Do not assume that sending an email makes it suitable for public attribution.
External websites
Links to software providers lead to independent services with their own policies. Visiting them may disclose technical information to those providers and may involve cookies or account processing outside this site's control. We do not receive your vendor account credentials through those links.
Storage and consent controls
The editorial scripts do not set cookies or use browser storage. Deployment-level consent or security services, if present, may have their own storage behavior. Review the live consent interface and the Cookies page for the distinction between editorial functionality and additional services.
Your requests
For questions about personal information in correspondence, contact [email protected]. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of information, object to certain processing or complain to a relevant supervisory authority. Some requests require identity verification and may be subject to legal exceptions.
The local drafting tool does not submit privacy requests automatically. Send your request through your email application. Do not send unnecessary identity documents in an initial inquiry.
Changes to this notice
